Whet your palatte with Macanese Delights in Cinnamon Coffee House @ One World Hotel

September 26, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

City dwellers craving for a taste of Macanese cuisine can do so at the Macanese Food promotion ‘The Macao Exchange’. Happening between now and 1st October at the award-winning Cinnamon Coffee House at One World Hotel, ‘The Macao Exchange’ is co-organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO).

The Macanese cuisine will be prepared by Chef Chan Yok Kong, who was born and raised in a culinary family in Macao. Chef Kong will be whipping out some of his popular dishes such as Chef Kong’s Specialty Curry Crab and Macanese-Style Roasted African Chicken. And this is a MUST to go for when you are there. It brings you all the delicious Macau dishes which is for sure to tempt you till the fullest.

Not just that, must try includes the Duck Liver Rice, and also some of the popular desserts in Macau which includes the Serradura.

Starting his career at the age of 13, Chef Kong today holds 40 years of experience in Portuguese cuisine. He gained culinary skills from his father at the Former Macau Military Camp in Coloane, where he started learning how to prepare Portuguese dishes with authentic taste and flavor. He then started his career at the Portuguese restaurant in Hyatt Regency Macau and had since been with the restaurant for over 19 years. During his stint there, he created new Portuguese dishes injecting it with Macau culinary culture elements.

Chef Kong then moved to work in Portugal, Spain, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and mainland China. He now brings the culinary skills from these different countries to Gosto at Galaxy Macau. Some of his creation includes the Curry Crab, Macanese Style Roasted African Chicken and Macanese Style Tamarind Duck.

‘The Macao Exchange’ will be part of the dinner buffet offered at the One World Hotel from 6:30pm to 10:30pm. The dinner is priced at RM118 nett for adult and RM59 nett for children, between the ages of 4 and 12.
