IKEA Encourages Malaysian Home Owners to Lead a Greener Life at Home

At IKEA, we want to have a positive impact on people and the planet. On 1 October 2016, IKEA invites all Malaysians to have a fun day out at the IKEA Damansara and IKEA Cheras stores while learning how to lead a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle.

IKEA has prepared a host of exciting activities and giveaways tailored for the whole family. Members of the public can learn how to create their own chemical-free household cleaners at the natural household cleaning demonstration, learn new energy-saving cooking practices at the sustainable cooking demonstration or get creative ideas on how to sort their waste at the waste sorting demonstration.

They can also do their bit for the environment by supporting the Lightbulb Recycling Effort which will be running on 1 October 2016. Customers who drop off their used LED, halogen or incandescent lightbulbs will get a free ice-cream*. Our two friendly mascots Sara and Panda will also be in attendance to give out free balloons for children.

Besides that, all members of the public can win freebies when they participate in fun games which are made from recyclable materials.

On 1 October 2016, IKEA FAMILY members are entitled to free breakfast from 9.00am to 10.30am. They can also redeem a set of BEVARA clips with a minimum purchase of RM20 worth of IKEA home furnishing products. All IKEA FAMILY shopping vouchers will also be going at half the usual points. For example, redeem a RM5 voucher for 250 points (usually 500 points).
From 1 – 2 October 2016, kids of the IKEA FAMILY members get to eat for FREE with any purchase at the IKEA Restaurant. We have not forgotten our småles members as well, where they can make their own windmill from recyclable material at the Kid’s Art and Craft workshop on 1 October 2016. If you are not a småles member yet, join for FREE at the Bug House, Ground Floor at any of the IKEA stores.
