A BUCKET OF JOY WITH KFC THIS MERDEKA

September 1, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

In conjunction with the 59th Merdeka celebrations, KFC brought smiles to the children of three homes with a Merdeka themed party and the much celebrated bucket of joy, KFC’s Bucket Ria.  The children from Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (RACTAR) in Subang Jaya, Selangor, Rumah Hope in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, and Rumah Charis in Puchong, Kuala Lumpur enjoyed a fun and colourful event held at KFC Headquarters, Petaling Jaya as part of KFC Malaysia’s continuous corporate social responsibility community efforts.
In the spirit of Merdeka, the party was filled with balloons in the colours of our national flag with a giant 3D Merdeka themed Bucket Ria cake as the centerpiece. It was a real treat for the children with an afternoon of fun and games, music and entertainment; including a magic show and balloon sculptures by Cha Cha the Clown.
“We were thrilled to get an invitation from KFC to celebrate Merdeka together with the children. It was an opportunity for the children to meet new friends and enjoy their favourite KFC chicken,” said Aini Syahirah, guardian at the Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (RACTAR).
“The children had a great time singing and dancing to Merdeka songs and played games with the other kids. Win or lose they all had fun. It was a memorable event with a true Merdeka spirit. Thanks to KFC” said Regina, guardian at the Rumah Hope.
“It was not just a KFC treats day for the children, but it’s especially meaningful to celebrate our nation’s birthday and instilling a sense of patriotism in them!” said Amy Teo, guardian at the Rumah Charis.
The children were all joy and smiles as they were treated with KFC’s Bucket Ria that features KFC’s signature favourites. Apart from playing games with the clown, the children also received goodie bags with premiums from KFC. With laughter and joy in the atmosphere, KFC’s Bucket Ria certainly stays true to its promise of being ‘Big on Value, Bigger on Smiles’.
