BEAUTIFUL BEVERAGES OF DRAKENSTEIN + THE CUISINE THEY INSPIRE AT THE REFLEXIONS PLAZA ATHENEE BANGKOK, A ROYAL MERIDIEN

July 22, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

The Glaz Bar and The Reflexions award-winning contemporary French cuisine restaurant at Plaza Athénée Bangkok, A Royal Méridien Hotel continue globetrotting the world’s premium beverage producers, and being inspired by them to create remarkable cuisine, with a visit from the Nederburg Winery located in the Drakenstein Mountains of South Africa on Thursday, 07 July 2016.

The five distinctive beverages to be tasted, courtesy of IWS, include a chardonnay, a pinotage, a shiraz, a cabernet sauvignon and a complex lyric sauvignon blanc/chenin blanc/chardonnay.

To perfectly complement the beverages, The Reflexions’ specialist team have created an indulgent three-course set menu with two choices per course.

The menu is offered with a red or a white Nederburg Winemaster’s Reserve Western Cape beverage, either Pinotage 2013 or Chardonnay 2014.

Start the culinary voyage of discovery with either Crispy pork belly/pan-seared Hokkaido scallop, Piccalilli cream, radish + cucumber OR Tartar of heirloom tomato/dehydrated sunflower bread, basil oil + mango.

Chef offers for the main course either Rack of Australian lamb/ Boulanger potatoes/samphire, fine beans + Verdi sauce OR Seared sea bass/potato gnocchi, chorizo + asparagus.

For the finale, chose from two delectable desserts: Textures of strawberry/crisp meringue + Chantilly cream OR White chocolate espuma/passion fruit + crispy biscuit.

Starting at 18:00 hours, the evening is priced at only THB 1,800++ per person, including beverage tasting at The Glaz Bar + 03 course dinner + 01 bottle of special beverage for two paying guests.
