2016 WORLD WHISKY DAY CELEBRATION AT TIFFANY’S NEW YORK BAR

After hosting the largest ever whisky event in town back in February, something is now stirring in InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong’s whisky bar – Tiffany’s New York Bar. On Saturday, 21 May 2016, this year’s official World Whisky Day,
Tiffany’s New York Bar will be hosting a whisky party to celebrate the water of life with the world.

World Whisky Day was founded in 2012 by Mr. Blair Bowman when he was still a university student. The event became an annual worldwide celebration of whisky, aiming to promote whisky knowledge and appreciation all over the world, and also to give those who do not normally drink whisky the chance to try the liquid gold.

Tiffany’s New York Bar is proud to be the appointed the official venue in Hong Kong for the celebration of the World Whisky Day 2016. It is a precious opportunity for whisky lovers in town to unite and enjoy an unforgettable night of whisky from 4pm – 9pm, enabling whisky aficionados to indulge in only the finest expressions and a fun-filled evening with great whiskies, curated cigar selection and whisky-matching food delicacies. Whisky experts will also be there to share information about different whisky regions, flavours and styles.

Mr. John Drummond, Resident Manager and Whisky Ambassador of InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong said, “In February, our hotel organized the first ever Hong Kong Whisky Festival. I am glad that we have received a lot of positive feedback from our participants and partners. What is even greater was the meeting and socializing with a lot of whisky connoisseurs and lovers at the event. The World Whisky Day is all about making whisky fun and enjoyable and I look forward to uniting more like-minded whisky enthusiasts on the day.”
Key Highlights of 2016 World Whisky Day Celebration at Tiffany’s New York Bar

• Sample Worldwide Whiskies at  Favourable Prices
At the event, participants can expect a night full of spectacular drams. They are able to sample over a hundred whiskies (appendix 1) from all over the world at favourable prices, of HK$50 or HK$80 per glass. Besides the well-known Scottish and Japanese whiskies, we have also brought in the Taiwan, France, Germany, Sweden and America whisky brands.

• Meet the Whisky Ambassadors
Murray Lang, Brand Ambassador of The Glenlivet and John Drummond, Whisky Ambassador of the hotel will be there all night to share their insights and knowledge on different casks.

• Cigar Corner
Fine cigar and peated whisky is always a miracle combination. A cigar corner will be specially set up at the alfresco garden lounge to serve Davidoff Cigars, where cigar lovers can enjoy their favourite smokes and malts.

• Ice Bar
An ice bar will also be set up at the Garden Lounge serving freshly-shucked oysters, ham, cheese, chocolate and whisky cake for whisky pairings.

• Jazz Performance by US jazz singer, Alia Marie
Alia Marie, former John Legend and Kanye West background singer will be performing jazz and soul music with the live band. Be enchanted by her soulful grooves from 6pm onwards.

• Ticketing
– Entry tickets can be purchased at Tiffany’s New York Bar.
– There is an admission fee of HK$120, which includes a World Whisky Day engraved Glencairn Whisky glass and welcome drink.
– Welcome drink: Glenlivet 12 year-old (for Gents) and Chivas Special Whisky Cocktail (for Ladies)
