BRIDGING FOOD AND ART: TOSCA TAKES ITALIAN CRAFTSMANSHIP TO A NEW LEVEL WITH SELETTI AFTERNON TEA

When Italian gastronomy meets artisanal creation, the pleasure is beyond words. Chef Pino Lavarra, culinary master of Michelin-starred Tosca, has always distinguished himself by delivering the best of Italian culture through his much-acclaimed cuisine. Seeing a shared passion for luxury craftsmanship with Seletti, an Italian home design brand, Chef Pino joins forces with Executive Pastry Chef Richard Long to introduce a stunningly arranged tea set plated on Seletti’s legendary ceramic ware. Exclusively available every Saturday from April 16 to May 14, the specially crafted tea set will immerse gourmands in the timeless elegance of Italian craftsmanship.

Since its establishment in 1964, Seletti has highlighted the strong link between home design and individual’s lifestyles. Combining revolutionary design while addressing daily needs, its signature tableware, lighting and furniture make their way into the homes of discerning customers who genuinely appreciate art and refined craftsmanship. In 1988, the brand set up SELAB, a laboratory dedicated to infusing the Seletti collection with new ideas and creativity. Today the company is run by the family’s first and second generations. The 30,000-square-meter production area in Cicognara di Viadana oversees the entire production process, from design development to manufacturing, ensuring only the finest quality to beautify every home.

The Seletti Afternoon Tea is gracefully presented on a six-layer ceramic tea stand reflecting the elegance of the Renaissance era. Food connoisseurs will enjoy the excitement of unveiling a range of scrumptious sweet and savory delights tastefully arranged in each layer. Delicately sliced veal is paired with a creamy and flavorful tuna sauce, while the overall richness is mellowed by the refreshing flavors of tomato and capers, making Veal with Tuna Sauce a standout among a range of enticing afternoon tea treats.

With mixed berry compote and jelly carefully embedded in soft and mellow custard and covered by marshmallow-like sponge cake cubes, Mini Mimosa Cake promises to indulge guests with a sweet surprise. Lemon Tarte is a simple yet classy Italian favorite. Playing with hints of tanginess and floral notes, Sicilian lemon cream perfectly complements the sweet and lightly browned meringue. A classic Italian pastry from Sicily region, cannoli literally means “little tube”. The heavenly flaky and lightly caramelized pastry shell is filled with smooth and airy custard topped with pistachio bits, making Cannoli Sfoglia a bite-sized delight fit for any sweet tooth.
