MANDARIN ORIENTAL, HONG KONG OFFERS THOUGHT PROVOKING EXHIBITION AND ARTISTIC TREATS AS OFFICIAL HOTEL PARTNER OF ART BASEL’S HONG KONG SHOW

Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong is pleased to announce that for the fourth year it will be the Official Hotel Partner for the Art Basel show in Hong Kong. To celebrate this partnership, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong will showcase Surroundings & Influences, an art exhibition presented with Artshare.com at the Clipper Lounge, and will offer guests a series of bespoke services throughout the hotel ranging from an exclusive stay, an art-inspired menu in the Michelin-starred Mandarin Grill + Bar, art-inspired treats at The Mandarin Cake Shop and cocktails at M bar, and a relaxing treatment at The Mandarin Spa to revive the feet after the bustle of the show.

The Art Basel show in Hong Kong will be held from 24 to 26 March 2016 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, just a short taxi or Mass Transit Railway ride away from the hotel. Located in the centre of the city, the iconic Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong has become the hotel of choice for many leading artists and gallery directors when visiting the city for either business or pleasure.

Between 7 and 28 March, 2016, Executive Pastry Chef Yves Matthey will exclusively create a Surroundings & Influences Afternoon Tea set to accompany the exhibition, inspired by the original art pieces. Art Menu in the Michelin-starred Mandarin Grill + Bar – 14 to 27 March, 2016
Michelin-starred chef, Uwe Opocensky will offer guests of the Mandarin Grill + Bar a special art-inspired three-course lunch and five-course dinner menu. Creative, inspired, and designed to stimulate all the senses, guests will be amazed and delighted as they watch these artistic dishes such as Street Art, Paint Box and Art Excavation unfold before their eyes. The three-course lunch menu will be priced at HKD988 and the five-course dinner menu at HKD1,888, subject to 10% service charge. Art Treats at The Mandarin Cake Shop – March 2016
The hotel’s talented pastry chefs will also be offering a range of limited-edition chocolates and treats. These tasty and artistic delights will include a range inspired by the Surroundings & Influences art exhibition at the hotel. A selection will be on sale at The Mandarin Cake Shop.

Art Cocktails in M bar – March 2016
The fashionable M bar, perched on the 25th floor of the hotel, will offer a series of must-try art-inspired crafted cocktails inspired by the Insights, Discoveries, Encounters and Film sectors of Art Basel Hong Kong.

Revive After Basel-ing at The Mandarin Spa – 24 to 27 March, 2016
Refresh tired legs after a long day of visiting the Art Basel show with a new Revive After Basel-ing Treatment at The Mandarin Spa that is designed to revive. A foot ritual with scrub will first be used followed by the application of rosemary, geranium, and sweet orange gel and oil to stimulate and soothe tired legs and feet. A foot massage will be performed to relieve hot swollen feet from walking, ending with a relaxing scalp massage while a warming detoxifying foot mask takes effect. The Revive After Baseling Treatment will last 45 minutes and will cost HKD1,000 on weekday and HKD1,100 on weekend plus 10% service charge.


Art Stay – 19 to 29 March, 2016
As the Official Hotel partner for the Art Basel show in Hong Kong, guests can enjoy an exclusive Art Stay package that includes:
• Overnight accommodation in a luxurious room
• Access for two to Art Basel, an invitation to the Vernissage, access to the Collectors Lounge and invitations to a series of events
• Breakfast in-room or in Clipper Lounge or Café Causette
• A welcome bottle of ‘R’ de Ruinart Champagne
• Art-inspired welcome tasty treat on arrival
