On the Dotonbori riverside, there is a sign with a huge octopus on it that’s become a landmark of the area. This is a famous restaurant that’s been set up in the middle of the area that fights over the reputation for the best takoyaki.
There are 3 different varieties of takoyaki here, if you want to try something a little new and they also offer beer and soft drinks.
I have not really tasted a lot of takoyaki but the takoyaki here is indeed a good one . The takoyaki is then put into a paper boat and topped with Japanese mayonnaise, takoyaki sauce (a savory brown sauce), and bonito flakes.
What I love is the takoyaki is its giant piece of octopus that is sandwiched in between the dumplings that makes it look extremely superb. The taste is just awesomely good. We ordered the original 8-piece takoyaki (520JPY), but there is also a 12-piece available for 740JPY.
