Quill City Mall launched its Monopoly themed Christmas in conjunction with Monopoly’s 80th anniversary on 10 December 2015. The launch was officiated by Dato’ Ar Michael Ong, Executive Director, Quill Group of Companies and Mr. Tony Collingridge, Director of Trade and Investment, the British High Commission.
“I had always thought that the youngsters of today are more into video games. So it comes as a pleasant surprise that they seem to be just as enthusiastic about Monopoly as us oldies are. This larger than life Monopoly phenomenon has been featured in major cities around the world and we at Quill City Mall are proud to showcase it in our very own Kuala Lumpur” said Dato’ Ar Michael Ong. “What could be more fun and exciting than tossing the giant dice, moving the iconic Monopoly tokens around the board, landing on the squares, the thrill of collecting the Chance and Community Chest cards and avoiding the dreaded “Go to Jail” square, all these in a life-size Monopoly board game!” he added.
As Christmas is the season for giving and bringing good cheers to others, the mall gave back to the community on that day by inviting 57 underprivileged children from Rumah Kanak-Kanak Angel’s Kuala Lumpur, Ti-Ratana Welfare Society Malaysia and Precious Children Home to celebrate this wonderful season together. The children were treated to breakfast and lunch at the mall, rounds of fun-filled game on the life-sized Monopoly board followed by a movie treat at Golden Screen Cinemas.
For the life-sized Monopoly, the shoppers can enjoy the nostalgia of having a go at it every weekend starting from 5 December 2015 to 27 December 2015 with a minimum spend of RM50 in a single receipt. Tenants of Quill City Mall are giving out special promotions, gift redemption opportunities and offerings to celebrate this joyous season. One of the mall’s special giveaway is the redemption of Monopoly’s enamel mug with spending of RM150 in a single receipt (RM100 for Maybank card members*).
Besides captivating performances and activities to celebrate the festivity, attractive promotions are also lined up to cater to shoppers at Quill City Mall. Exciting activities at Quill City Mall this Christmas include ‘Meet & Greet’ sessions with Mr. Monopoly, Santa Claus, Magician, Clowns as well as Christmas Carolling on 5,6,9,11,12,13,19,20,24,25,26 & 27 December 2015.
