The Red Market is an active wet market found in historic red-brick building located on the corner of Avenida Amirante Lacerda and Avenida Horta e Costa, just north of the Three Lamps District in Macau.
The market comes simply beautiful and well maintained. As for me, it is always a favourite of mine, experiencing the local life and perhaps you can find something different at anyway. It is indeed a great place for bargains, local food and authentic experience without casinos and tourist crowds.
The building, designed by local architect Julio Alberto Basto in 1936 is symmetrically shaped and highly recognisable due to the distinctive colour of the red bricks which make up the building. Inside, there are three busy floors of seafood, poultry, beef, pork, vegetables and and other sundries.
But overall, it is such a great experience walking around the Market and looking at the huge dried items that pamper me to bring home.
