MOONCAKES MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL 2015 @ TAO CHINESE CUISINE , INTERCONTINENTAL KUALA LUMPUR

September 12, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

Feast the delectable mooncakes from the award winning Tao Chinese Cuisine at InterContinental KL From 01 August till 27 September 2015.This year, feast the mooncakes which is crafted by the dim sum Chef Lo Tion Sion.

Bringing you with the options of baked and snowskin mooncake, Tao Chinese Cuisine comes up with 5 baked as well as 6 snowskin flavours. All mooncakes are well packed in an elegant gift box encased by the butterfly motif. It’s beautiful.
INTERCONTINANTAL MOONCAKE

From the baked skin mooncake, enjoy their classic white lotus paste with double salted egg yolk and almond nuts (RM32) or with single yolk (RM28). The smooth and moist texture of the mooncake is indeed so good and the egg yolks are just nice and good.

This year, Chef’s recomendation would be the NEW bamboo charcoal skin with assorted nuts(RM32).I love the way it is done with the dense and nutty flavours.

Another addition to this year’s baked skin series, the Scarlet Snow Skin (RM30) , includes the refined flavours of Sweet Snow Skin infused with Pandan and Salted Egg Bean Paste Blend, promising a classic baked skin experience unlike any other.

As for the Snow Skin Series, instead of having the usual Musang King Durian, Tao had made a twist which is the Red Prawn Mooncake which comes with the rich flavoured of Durian.

They also have something unusual which is the Mini Peanut Butter Snow Skin with Japanese Purple Potato Paste and Yam Omachi(RM 20) where the taste is simply divine. Absolutely falling in love with it where the peanut butter snow skin instilled with Japanese purple potato paste and yam omachi, is a great blend of Chinese and Japanese, with a surprise of omachi in the heart of the mooncake.

Other choices includes the Mini Chestnut Paste with Diced Hawthorn and Pineapple Paste (RM 23), Mini Tiramisu Paste with Assorted Honey Nuts( RM 20), Mini Yam and White Skin with Pumpkin and Green Tea Paste (RM 20) and Mini Pandan Coconut Floss Paste and Single Salted Egg Yolk(RM 20)
