THE RITZ-CARLTON, HONG KONG INTRODUCES A STRAWBERRY CHOCOLATE FANTASY

August 7, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

Starting September 1, 2015, The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong presents a Strawberry Chocolate Fantasy at Café 103.  For one month only, a delectable selection of strawberry and chocolate treats will be served on Café 103’s signature bookshelf tea stand on weekdays, whereas for an ultimate indulgence, a dazzling spread of tea buffet items will be available on weekends. Symbolizing romance and affection, the classic pairing of strawberry and chocolate will evolve into an assortment of exciting creations to realize a sweet fantasy.

Richard Long, Executive Pastry Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, led his talented team to design this tempting afternoon tea menu. “The sweetness of chocolates is a perfect complement to the fruitiness of strawberries, making this lovable duo an all-time favorite for any palates”, said Chef Richard. “Exquisite and delicate, these enticing pastries do not only tempt the taste buds, but are also a feast for the eyes”. Specialties in the tea set include Strawberry Choux, a puff filled with a rich layer of ivory white chocolate cream and fresh strawberry dices for a balanced flavor.  Not to be missed is Richard’s personal favorite – Strawberry Basil Pave, a creamy yet light cake with a hint of minty aroma coming from the strawberry basil cream.

While the scrumptious tea set is the perfect remedy for guests to get through a busy weekday, gourmands expecting an even more pampering experience should look no further than the weekend afternoon tea buffet showcasing around twenty selected treats. Strawberry Eton Mess is a classic English dessert in which melt-in-your-mouth meringue and fresh strawberries are dressed in soft and smooth cream. Of special note is the live cooking station serving Hong Kong’s most iconic snack – Chinese Egg Puff. Inspired by Belgium waffles, the strawberry flavored egg puff is elegantly plated and served with guests’ choice of toppings ranging from ice-cream to seasonal fruits.
