PREMIUM ABALONE DELICACIES AT THE CHINESE RESTAURANT @ HYATT REGENCY HONG KONG

August 7, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

This September and October, enjoy a sumptuous list of premium abalone delicacies at The Chinese Restaurant created by Head Chef Kwai-kai Lo to embrace the freshness from the sea.

Take a light and refreshing appetiser to start the feast.  Chef Lo recommends chilled fresh abalones which showcases the true taste of this luxurious seafood; while guests with a stronger palate may sample a popular Hong Kong treat, baked abalone tarts, a perfect combination of tender abalone and buttery tart base.

Guests who fancy a tantalising dish to stimulate their appetite in the autumn are invited to sample other delectable choices and clay pot dishes, including braised Australian abalone in oyster sauce, using one of the most traditional Cantonese cooking methods to prepare the finest ingredients from Australia.  Alternatively, savour the enticing stir-fried sliced abalones with assorted mushrooms in Chef Lo’s signature homemade X.O. chilli sauce; or the flavourful braised abalones with chicken in clay pot where irresistible aromas are exuding from the pottery.

There are also other must-eat delights on the menu, ranging from a nourishing soup series, such as double-boiled abalone soup with fish maw and bamboo pith in young papaya or the double-boiled abalone soup with conch and red date to pamper your palate.  Other dishes such as the braised abalone with sea cucumber and squash or the sliced abalones in superior broth are also cooked to perfection with a juicy and delicate texture to whet taste buds.

The Chinese Restaurant combines a modern art deco design masterfully blended with the essence of a traditional 1920s tea house, serving authentic Cantonese dishes. There are two private rooms for 8 and 12 persons respectively.
