Associates of Royal Plaza on Scotts Singapore (RP) celebrated the nation’s birthday during the long weekend by dressing up in chef hats to participate in Community Chest’s Heartstrings Walk 2015 for a good cause earlier this morning with their loved ones. The associates also joined in the drumming activity with unique instruments including pots and pans from award-winning buffet restaurant Carousel’s kitchens, marking SG50 with the beneficiaries and community to create the united heartbeat of one Singapore. In support of this charity initiative organised by Community Chest, RP sponsored all registration fees for associates and their loved ones.
Thoi Yu Ying, Assistant Housekeeper, 27, shared, “I am happy and excited to take part in this meaningful event with my colleagues. This is my first time joining the Heartstrings Walk with Royal Plaza on Scotts. It was heartwarming to celebrate the Golden Jubilee together with my colleagues and dressing up for the occasion.”
RP is active in corporate social responsibility initiatives, doing its part for the less privileged. Besides participating in the Heartstrings Walk, the hotel also organises annual visits to old folks’ homes and all associates are encouraged to take part in ComChest’s SHARE programme, a workplace-giving programme where their pledged monthly donations go towards helping the beneficiaries.
