The food of 10 Asean member states will be the highlight at the Asean Food Festival to be held at Lemon Garden Cafe, Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur from 1 to 8 August.

The special dishes of Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and the Philippines will be featured in a scrumptious buffet at Lemon Garden Cafe.

The food festival is held in conjunction with the Asean Day celebrations on 8 August.

Three special menus presenting a wide range of appetisers, soups, hot dishes and desserts have been prepared for the Asean Food Festival at Lemon Garden Cafe.

Begin lunch or dinner with Laos lobster salad with minced chicken, Pie Tee with pepper crab from Singapore, Ngiom, Cambodian cabbage salad with roasted peanuts or Vietnamese grilled lemongrass beef noodle salad.

Warm up to Malaysia’s sup ekor, Myanmar pumpkin soup with sweet basil or Bakso, Indonesia’s Beef ball soup with vermicelli and chilli paste.

Delight in Thailand’s Special Flower Crab Curry, Brunei’s Beef in spiced and tangy gravy and Philippines Lamb Adobo.

Revel in desserts like Indonesia’s layered spiced cake, Malaysia’s durian pancakes, Philippine coconut pudding, Thai pumpkin custard, Brunei’s kueh kuya and Vietnamese banana cake with cashews, among several other yummy sweets.
