“TALES OF NUSANTARA” @ ESSENCE, SHERATON IMPERIAL KUALA LUMPUR

This Ramadan, treat your family and friends to a buka puasa event with a difference! Get ready for an exciting “Tales of Nusantara” experience here at Essence Restaurant, where you can find your favorite Ramadan delights at a collection of stalls and live cooking stations with each traditionally decorated to its food origins.

This year, Essence brings you with the tantalizing Ramadhan bringing you more than 210 mouth watering specialties which include Malay, Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesia, Singaporean and many more other cuisine boasting with a 120 metre buffet spread. And this year, the Taste of Nusantara is indeed bringing us with loads of local delicacies which is not to be missed.

Starting with the appetizers, prepare your self to indulge with the variety of Som tam goong yang, Gado gado padang bumbu kacang, Tauhu sumbat, Selada mentah kerabu pakis Surabaya, Pucuk betik, pucuk gajus, ulam raja, petai, daun selon, terung telunjuk, terung pipit, tenggek burung, daun pegaga, bendi rebus, terung rebus, petai rebus, jengkol and many more. Not to be missed is the variety of tempting sourish delights like the Jeruk buah kedondong, jeruk buah kelubi, jeruk buah manga, jeruk buah Pala, jeruk cermai, jeruk betik, jeruk buah salak, jeruk asam paya, jeruk jambu batu , jeruk sengkuang and many more.

Moving to the mains, their famous station- Baked whole sea bass bumbu bali and the whole baby lamb with mandi rice is something to look forward. The whole baby lamb and the rice was a divine combination with the complete tender meat with the juiciness in it. Awesome!

More to go in the buffet spread include the Gulai ayam padang, Opor daging istana, Udang masak tempoyak dengan petai, Gulai kaki kambing . Pho cha, satay. Nasi Ambeng, mee goreng, sambal jawa, ikan goreng, tempe goreng berempah,
Ayam goreng berempah, Begedil, tauhu,Pomfret with spicy green chili paste, Braised jack fruit with salted fish and more.

In their Nusantara Delights, another counter not to be missed is their Middle East Shawarma where we are pampered with the Chicken or beef sharwarma with condiments.

For those who are favour for some spaghetti and noodles, the PISA counter and the Mee Nusantara counter is here to serve you. The PISA counter will bring you with the Fresh boiling pasta with traditional italian tomato sauce, cream sauce and aglio alio. As for the Mee Nusantara counter, you would get a taste of Mie bakso, mee bandung, nyonya curry laksa and laksa Sarawak.

They also have the Tandoori counter where you can enjoy Tandoori murgh and achari macchli tikka, Marinated chicken and fish with yoghurt and indian spices. It is served with the choices of naan as well as sliced lemon, green chili mint chutney, onion rings

They also have a Singapore counter too with the Uncle Loo Singapore Chili Crab.

Never go home without savoring their desserts. Some of the sweet delicacies includes the Bingka jagung,bingka ubi, lepat pisang, lepat ubi,kuih lopes, apam gula hangus, seri muka, tepung pelita,agar agar, cucur jawa, dangai, cara manis, cara berlauk, puteri mandi, kasui, Assorted raya cookies.

Not just that, they also have the Thailand style pulut mango, Pumpkin custard, Sarawak layer cake and Raspberry mousse with chocolate tart. Aside, you will also enjoy their hot dessert too which is the sweet Banana sticky pudding/pandan bread butter pudding with vanilla sauce and the Roti jala pandan dengan serawa durian.

Ends them with the vabriant colorful drinks which includes the Sirap bandung, jus kurma,air tebu, air mata kucing, air kacang soya, air jagung, air cincau, air laici, air mangga asam boi and Air syrup selasih.

The Buffet is priced at RM 138 nett per person with an early bird promotion priced at RM 90 nett until the 17th of June. It is available for dinner only from 18th of June until the 16th of July 2015.

Confirm your reservations before 17th June and enjoy the early bird promotion priced at RM90 nett per person. SPG Members can enjoy 20% discount of total food bill. UOB and Maybank card holder enjoy special privileges while dining at Essence as well.
