Experience a gastronomic journey from June 18 – July 16, 2015 at Melting Pot Café. Tuck into a myriad of mouth-watering delicacies from the historic state of Melaka.

It takes the perfect combination of herbs, spices and various cooking styles in preparing true, authentic Malay dishes. Enticing Nyonya inspired dishes make up the special buffet spread. When it comes to Melaka food, what comes to mind? Delicious asam pedas, ikan bakar, ayam pong teh, cendol and cencaluk of course! Well, we invite diners to enjoy only the best from this state.

For buffet dinner, break fast with assortment of dates, dried figs and dried apricots not to forget, bubur lambuk – a must-have during fasting month. Enjoy a bit of everything and then be ready for the mains. Savour signature asam pedas dishes featuring different kind of poultry and fish – daging tetel, ikan merah, ikan pari, ekor lembu, lamb chop amongst others. Rendang ayam Nyonya, ayam masak lada, limpa lembu masak hitam manis, cincaluk omelette, udang sambal petai, kari kepala ikan, nasi Portugis daging, udang harimau masam manis, lamb shank masak kuzi are amongst recommendations. From the Nyonya section, Chef Rogayah Sharif and Chef Mohd Ridzuan have prepared Nyonya style rendang ayam, cincaluk omelette, Nyonya chap chai, ikan siakap cili garam and bendi sambal cili. Regular diners will still get to enjoy signature dishes like piping hot gearbox soup, teppanyaki and whole roasted lamb. An array of modern and traditional Malay/Nyonya kuih add colour to the buffet spread. There is servings of onde-onde, putu piring, seri muka, putu bambu, talam gula Melaka, kuih kaswi, tapai ubi, tapai pulut, serawa durian with pulut, green tea financier, vanilla madeleines, chocolate chip cake and baked cheese cake. Guests can also enjoy a la minute cendol, apam balik, ice-cream with assorted condiments. There will be three buffet dinner menus which rotates daily, available at RM138.00 nett per person. A 15% discount is offered for during June 18 – 21 and the last 5 days, July 12 – 16.

For ‘sahur’ (a special meal consumed early in the morning by Muslims before they start to fast), Melting Pot’s buffet supper/steamboat has always been top of the mind.
