CELEBRATING THE LITTLE ONES WE LOVE

TOLLYJOY AND ORPHANCARE FOUNDATION COLLABORATE TO LAUNCH ITS FIRST BABY DAY IN MALAYSIA

They say great things come from small beginnings. For many parents, some of the best beginnings come with parenthood. Having a baby marks the start of a beautiful and rewarding journey that takes a special kind of courage and a whole lot of love and care. Above all, it is a journey of discovery with some of the most valuable life lessons learnt from raising a child. This year, Tollyjoy and OrphanCARE Foundation join hands in celebration of babies with the official launch of its very first Baby Day in Malaysia.

Held at KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital (KPJ DSH) today, Tollyjoy Baby Day 2015 is a special day dedicated to appreciating babies and embracing the significance of a parent’s journey in caring and providing for their little ones. Beyond the sleeping and crying, feeding and changing, babies can teach us things we may never be able to learn on our own. Just as mothers and fathers are acknowledged for their honorable roles, there is so much to celebrate about babies – tiny as they may be.

“We are thrilled to announce our very first Baby Day here in Malaysia. We have Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Children’s Day and even Parents’ Day. Babies too deserve a day of their own, to be appreciated and celebrated. Our focus for this special day is on providing the best for parents and their babies, which is in line with our mission. We are glad to be able to work with OrphanCARE to create this opportunity for parents to enjoy their little ones while learning more about how to care for them,” said Mr Tan Wee Keng, CEO of Tollyjoy Corporation.

The event marked the launch of a meaningful partnership between Tollyjoy and OrphanCARE Foundation, whose objective is to give every orphan and abandoned baby in Malaysia a loving home through their adoption services and extensive baby hatch programme in collaboration with KPJ Group. At present, there are eight KPJ baby hatches in Peninsular Malaysia supporting this objective.

“Babies are born with a need to feel loved, valued and emotionally secure. Our work is aimed at giving every baby the chance at a healthy life in the security of a family. At the same time, we are able to fulfill the hopes of couples who are unable to conceive. Today is about recognising the importance of family, love and care to every child. This is what our foundation stands by and we are pleased to be a part of this initiative with Tollyjoy,” stated Datin Elya Adnan, a Trustee of OrphanCARE Foundation.

“Our collaboration with OrphanCARE Foundation is a meaningful one. The first few months of a baby’s life is crucial and sadly, not all babies are born into good homes. We feel that this is something that needs to be recognised, which is what inspired this partnership,” continued Mr Tan.

In line with its tagline, ‘Celebrating the Baby You Love’, the event brought together parents, babies and experts within the baby care industry to share in an experiential tea session focused on baby care and baby bonding. Guests were treated to a series of fun games and insightful activities, including an interactive talk by KPJ DSH’s Consultant Pediatrician & Neonatologist, Dr Mohammad Iqbal Mohammad Sarwar.

During his talk session on ‘A Parent’s Role in Raising Emotionally Awesome Children’, Dr Mohammad Iqbal stated, “Babies need a tremendous amount of attention and affectionate care, especially in the early years. An environment that is rich in positive emotions will help babies develop a sense of security and give them the emotional nourishment that is important for their learning and development. Our children are our greatest blessings. Let’s raise children who won’t have to recover from their childhood, and empower them to have the wings of independence with firm roots of responsibility.”

While parenthood may have its challenging times amidst other pressing duties, it is important for parents to reserve some time each day to acknowledge and appreciate their baby. As stated by Mr. Tan during the launch, “Learning how to enjoy your baby can really enrich your experience as a parent. Just a little time off to cuddle, watch, talk or play with your baby will reveal some of the most significant moments – no matter how small they may seem. Every baby deserves a great start in life and we look forward to continue supporting OrphanCARE Foundation to help reach out and extend our care for babies, especially those who are less fortunate.”

As part of the experiential tea session, guests were able to explore a themed photo booth for a fun family snap session, as well as a Baby Dress-Up Station with some of Tollyjoy’s latest collection in baby wear. The event concluded with a confetti launch to officiate the partnership and celebration of Baby Day 2015.
