THE UNIQUE FLAVOURS OF SINGAPORE CUISINE @ JW MARRIOTT HONG KONG

March 2, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong is pleased to welcome Chef John Chye from Singapore Marriott Hotel as he presents an eclectic selection of dishes from the lion city to The Lounge’s dinner buffet, from 16 to 29 March.

The talented Sous Chef credits his aunt for his love for food, and is inspired by her passion and skillful experiment of styles in her dishes. His culinary experience from renowned restaurants in Singapore and Malaysia has further broadened his knowledge of cooking techniques and the use of herbs and spices to complement many of his creations.

“I look forward to captivating the taste buds of Hong Kong diners with mouth-watering Singapore cuisine that is based upon the cultures of China and India, using a mixture of herbs and spices. My philosophy is to first understand the various ingredients and flavours of different cultures, and thereafter create and introduce new innovative dishes using a variety of textures, tastes and preparation styles,” said Chef Chye.

Chef Chye will present an array of mouth-watering dishes that include seafood laksa and Singapore’s national dish Hainanese chicken rice at the live cooking stations. He will also showcase a spread of other popular specialties like cuttlefish salad, sambal prawns, satays, rojak (fruit and vegetable salad), gado-gado (mixed vegetables with spiced peanut sauce), succulent wok-fried chilli crab, stir-fried black pepper prawns with red chilli, richly-flavoured devil curry chicken, bak kut teh (pork spare-rib soup with herbs and spices) and many more. Look forward to a sensational dining experience where you will be spoilt for choice. Singapore-themed dinner buffet is available between 16 and 29 March from 6pm to 10pm daily, and priced at HK$608 per adult and HK$428 per child from Monday to Thursday; HK$668 per adult and HK$468 per child from Friday to Sunday.
