M.A.D! @ PV 128, JALAN GENTING KLANG

February 25, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

M.A.D
M.A.D! a name which is not easily forgotten and the meaning stands behind the restaurant is “Modern Asian Diner” is inspired in Bohemian and minimalistic New York with the food platting the Asian inspired food.
M.A.D
Located in PV128 which is a new place in Setapak, it is indeed a bursting place with restaurant and students. M.A.D! is the brainchild of Chef Dave Looi, the ex-Head Chef at Suffolk House Penang. M.A.D offers fantastic flavours, combining age old recipes with quality fresh local ingredients.
M.A.D
We started with their signature dish in M.A.D which is promoting the chef signature chicken lo bak. (RM 11.50) and the Fried Shrimp Wanton (RM 11). Chef makes us a tasting portion which comes in smaller portion with the combination of both. The Both item is really delicious with the crispy wanton and with the shrimps in it. As for the Lo Bak, the texture comes moist too.
M.A.D
Serving next is their Chicken Ma La Pot (RM 19.50). There are few choices like Seafood Ma La Pot (RM 19.50) , Beef Ma La Pot (RM 22.50) and vegetarian ma la pot (RM 16.00). Added with the secret authentic recipe base from the Si Chuan’s blend recipe is definite to blast to the taste-buds with the kick of spiciness in it.
M.A.D
Fans of Squids and Egg Yolk would never say no to this – The Deep Fried Squid in Salted Egg Yolk (RM 17.00) where you will definitely fall in love with the Asian version of the Calamari. Take the pleasure in delighting your appetite as you sink your teeth into the crispy and salty squid ring. All enveloped win sinful salted egg yolk. Awesome !

M.A.D
The Cereal Butter Prawns (RM 22.50) comes next. Made with the Nestum coated on the butter prawns, it is definite all family’s favorite for all ages. Nicely done.
M.A.D
Seafood Sambal (RM 19.50) comes with the kick of spiciness with it where each mouthful of the seafood is fresh and coated with the spicy sauce with it.
M.A.D
Another signature is the Rendang Lamb Shank (RM 28.50) which is braised in skilled to perfection and it is being served till perfectionist with the roasted garlic mash potatoes and grilled seasonal vegetables and garnished beautifully.
M.A.D
We ended with the Kangkung Belachan (RM 12.00) which is a simple and yet a tasty dish which hits the right notes of spicy and crunchy bites with loads of umami flavors in it.
