KFC AND PIZZA HUT SPONSOR MEALS TO UNIFORM BODIES AND VOLUNTEERS

January 2, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

As part of KFC and Pizza Hut’s continuous effort in offering a helping hand towards those involved in the current east coast flood crisis, KFC and Pizza Hut Malaysia today presented its contribution to uniform bodies and volunteers who have worked around the clock to provide aid and assistance to those affected by the floods.

The contribution was handed over by Dato’ Kamaruzzaman Bin Abu Kassim, President & Chief Executive of Johor Corporation and Chairman of QSR Brands (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd (operator of KFC and Pizza Hut Malaysia) to Major General Datuk Mazelan Bin Kasap, Chief of Staff, Army Headquarters at the Bangunan Pergerakan Udara, TUDM, Subang. Also present was Mohamed Izaham Bin Abdul Rani, Executive Director, QSR Brands (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd.

A total of over RM30,000.00 worth of KFC and Pizza Hut meals will be sent to the uniform bodies and volunteers over the next seven days as efforts to aid the flood victims continue.

“We are deeply touched by all Malaysians who have come together to help our fellow Malaysians in the east coast flood crisis. It is by far one of the worst floods to ever hit Malaysia, and many have stepped forward to join in the flood relief initiatives. It is definitely challenging and requires a lot of effort and strength to handle the influx of goods pouring in. Providing KFC and Pizza Hut meals are our way of showing appreciation to all the uniform bodies and volunteers who give their time and energy wholeheartedly, ” said Dato’ Kamaruzzaman.

Dato’ Kamaruzzaman also expressed hope that all Malaysians will continue to assist the flood victims in affected states until life returns to normal for them.

On 25 December 2014, KFC and Pizza Hut distributed over 2,500 KFC meals and 1,600 pizza slices respectively to the flood victims at several relief centres in Kelantan. A team of KFC and Pizza Hut employees were present to distribute the meals and pizzas, with the assistance of the Fire and Rescue personnel, to the flood victims at the relief centres.

To date, KFC and Pizza Hut have contributed over RM 60,000.00 towards aiding the flood victims, uniform bodies and volunteers.

At the same time, Dato’ Kamaruzzaman also handed over medical items and medicine contributed by KPJ Healthcare Berhad and Mutiara Johor Corporation. In addition, a variety of basic necessities to the flood victims through the collection drive carried out by Damansara Assets Sdn Bhd at the Collection Centre for Flood Victims at several of the Johor Corporation commercial premises were also presented.

Briged Waqaf team members from QSR Brands (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd, Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad, KPJ Healthcare Berhad, Johor Land Berhad, Syarikat Pengangkutan Maju Berhad serta Tanjung Langsat Port Sdn Bhd were also present to assist with the flood aid operations at the Pengkalan TUDM Subang today.
