KFC AND PIZZA HUT DISTRIBUTES OVER RM25,000.00 WORTH OF MEALS TO FLOOD VICTIMS

December 26, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

KFC and Pizza Hut distributed over 2,500 KFC meals and 1,600 pizza slices respectively worth over RM25,000.00 to flood victims at several relief centres in Kelantan namely Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Keroh in Kuala Krai as well as Sekolah Kebangsaan Pengkalan Kubur and  Sekolah Kebangsaan Pengkalan Kubur 2 in Tumpat, yesterday.

A team of KFC and Pizza Hut employees were present to distribute the meals and pizzas, with the assistance of the Fire and Rescue personnel to the flood victims at the relief centres.

“Floods are one of the worst natural disasters that could happen to any place at any time, and we empathise with the residents of Kelantan who have to endure this catastrophe. As a caring corporate citizen, we felt that it is our responsibility to do our part in helping”, said Mohamed Izaham Abdul Rani, Executive Director, QSR Brands (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd, operator of KFC and Pizza Hut Malaysia.

“We understand the stress and worry they are experiencing, and we hope that this small contribution could somehow ease the burden and put a smile on their face”, he added.

Mohamed Izaham also expressed hope that the situation will end soon and the flood victims will be able to return back to their homes and carry on with their daily lives.

The meals distributed to the Kelantan flood victims were carried out under the KFC & Pizza Hut World Hunger Relief Distribution Programme which was launched on the 17th of December 2014.
