PURPLE PASTA @ OASIS SQUARE

November 24, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

“Purple Pasta” with the purplish signage on their shop had indeed attracted me to try off when I heard about the name itself. Located in the Oasis Damansara, Purple Pasta brings you the cosy environment where they have the sleek blue sofas with colourful cushions and low coffee tables with petite rounded seats comfort derrieres and invite longer visits. . We instantly felt at home as we step into Purple Pasta. The warm hospitality of the staffs at Purple Pasta made us feel at ease.

“Purple Pasta” comes from the idea of a group of youngsters who are having the passion of food which would love to make their own pasta and bringing the customer with the “unique” experiences. Not just serving pasta, the restaurant also serves a variety of western dishes which is worth to give a try.
purple pasta
We started with the mushroom soup which comes pretty creamy. The mushroom blend of taste comes awesomely good with the fragrant of creaminess in it with the add on of the creamiess in it. The shitake mushroom which is well grilled added with the cream, milk and seasoning and blend till perfectionist. It is then being topped with the milk foam and decorated with the alfafa on top. Not just that, it comes special where instead of breadcrumbs, they had pit in the cheese pop corn and the red peppercorn with it, Nice one! I am just loving the taste where the creaminess of the popcorn added in the soup which makes it indeed special.

Coming next is the salmon tartar ( RM 20.00) . The cutted salmon in cubes is being mixed with the generous amount of mayo, pear and also their home made tartar sauce added with the mix of ebiko and mayo. The dish is then later being decorated in a bowl and then toached . The taste is as awesome as I is where the lovely tartar sauce which is loaded in the dish brings us the overall creaminess in it.

Serving their signatures which is just at RM5.00 for a plate of authentic Cabonara (RM 5) is as good as it is. The portion of the cabonara which is made from the egg based is not too creamy but the eggy taste had made a good match in the dish. I just love how they had made the combination and it’s making it so delicious.

As for the Lamb, the generous portion of the lamb is well done as it should be where the lamb is just using salt in their seasoning. It is then being grilled till perfectionist with the complete juiciness in it. Served with 3 choices of sauc on each lamb steak, you will get the herby sauce where the sauce is blended together with the combination of basil, rosemary and thyme. Another two would be the grape sauce and also the brown sauce together.

Medium Rare Salmon With Mashed Russet (RM29.00) is where the salmon fillet pan fried to medium rare. According to Purple Pasta, they claims that this is the best way to indulge in a salmon. Accompanied with garlicky butter sauce, mashed russet truffle oil mixture and Scandivanian style salad.

purple pasta
The purplish pasta – Spicy Smoked Duck Aglio Olio (RM18.00) is where the pasta is being cooked with beatroot, come with the wet version of aglio olio. The spaghetti brings us with the complex flavours that may not suits to everyone. The spaghetti is drenched in a bed of broth richly flavoured with garlic, basil evoo, chilli flakes, smoked duck slices, leeks, tomato.
purple pasta
We ended with their Fish & Chips where the crispy breadcrumbs dory fish is well done with egg and also flour. Deep fried till complete crispiness, the fish comes awesomely good without any fishy taste in it and it is served with the generous chips together. Nice !
