November 1, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

Discover a new way to indulge. Experience InterContinental Kuala Lumpur’s award-winning epicurean pleasures at its best by participating in the hotel’s New Year’s Eve dining safari, a progressive style dining adventure and an electrifying countdown party to 2015, all within the opulent surroundings of the luxury hotel.

Sample an array of cuisines in one distinct dining experience as the hotel’s signature restaurants, lounge and bars open up for all, taking guests on a gastronomic journey through dinner with a twist. InterContinental Kuala Lumpur’s recently appointed Executive Chef, Sam Kung comments, “Bringing the progressive dining concept into town is exciting and adventurous. There is no better way to welcome year 2015 with a round up of dramatically different dining experience at each restaurant.” He adds that, “the adventure is the defining element of the event.”

Start the evening in the relaxing ambiance of Serena Brasserie for starters where a host of chilled seafood bar with freshly flown shellfish and crustaceans are on display. Venture out to the live action stations of backyard BBQ of premium meat and seafood, grilled foie gras on brioche, and blinis with caviar. Marinated and spiced to perfection, the roast of Australia prime rib and whole lamb is ready to whet your appetite too.

Next, tantalise your taste buds at Tatsu Japanese Cuisine with authentic Japanese delicacies. Taking centerstage, watch chef in action as he skillfully cuts the Mauritius Yellowfin Tuna (maguro) live. Savour fresh seasonal ingredients such as sushi and sashimi, traditional dishes such as tempura, surf and turf teppanyaki, cod fish teriyaki, grilled unagi and more. Then head to the warm atmosphere of Tao Chinese Cuisine, where celebrated Chef Wong Lian You and his team serve up delicious and heart-warming Cantonese fare. The oriental assortment ranges from live station of imperial duck rolls, Hainanese chicken rice to steamed handmade dim sum.

Sweeten the evening further with Serena Brasserie’s selection of French inspired treats. Enjoy traditional French classic desserts showcasing “croquembouche”, a majestic presentation of choux pastry balls; and “floating island” also known as “ilesflottantes”, a beautiful poached meringue floating on rich vanilla custard, among the chocolate fountain with seasonal fruit and delicious morsels of petit four.

Continue the evening in IVIV Lounge & Bar, the stylish lounge by day and bar by night is the perfect place to wind down and enjoy some wine. To fuel the night up, join traditional English watering hole Bentley’s Pub for an effervescent draught beer or two before heading up to the countdown party where the doors to an amusement open at 9:30pm. Rocking the night off, the hotel presents, Fredo & The Flintstones band with a sexy DJ that will be entertaining with a live electric performance and countdown to 2015.

Impressive line up of lucky draw awaits, the grand prize – a 0.5 carat diamond worth RM15,000 from one of the finest jewellery maker.
