HILTON KUALA LUMPUR CELEBRATES AGE-OLD TRADITION WITH CONTEMPORARY FLAVOURS THIS 2014 MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL

August 27, 2014 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review, Invited Review Leave a Comment

Hilton Kuala Lumpur celebrates the “mooncake festival with the sweet delicacy, hand crafted and freshly baked; all right from the oven at Chynna’s Kitchen. Paying homage to the old tradition , award winning Chynna’s Executive Chef, Lam Hock Hin introducing an executive signature snowskin mooncake to celebrate this year Mid Autumn Festival.

Started with the Autumn Jade, the mooncakes comes with a refreshing flavous with the pandan and parmesan cheese with mandarin orange infused with the chocolate soft centre. Giving the bites of the modern palate, the savoury parmesan cheese with the combination of the mandarin oranges is just as good as it is bringing us the deliciate mooncake flavours as well bursting of the multi dimensional taste without an overpowering sweetness and flavours in it. The taste is as nice as it is and every mouthful is perfectly awesome.

Back by the popular demand, and it is one of my favorites here- the Heavenly Gold Mooncake inspired by the crème de la crème of durians , Musang Kong continues to be the top seller on the mooncake list. Using only the fresh premium Musang King Durian, the Heavenly Gold Mooncake is so pure that the only added element is the delicate snow skin that envelopes the delicious durian filling resulting in a mouthful of heavenly bliss in every bites. For a whole Musang King Durian Fruit; it is only used to provide two Heavenly Gold Mooncakes. Once a bite, you will definite to fall in love with it where each mouthful comes uniquely good and delicious. Melts in the mouth and the ooziness of the fragrant king of fruit dancing inside the mouth. I am loving it!

Hilton Kuala Lumpur’s mooncakes which comes in 11 varieties which includes traditional baked and snow skins. The baked skin comes deliciously good with the simply thin skin. The mooncakes perfectly done with the moist texture of ingridients in it. I love the Traditional Style Baked with Five Nuts which is moist and yet flavourful. It is one of my favorites for the Baked Selection besides the Baked Lotus Paste with Single Yolk.

For a modern flavours, they also comes with their best seller mooncake which is the Blue Moon which is Snow Skin Amaretto Lotus Paste with Blueberry Cheese Feuillantine as well as the Flower Drum which is the Snow Skin Lotus Paste with Soft Custard Egg Yolk.

At Chynna’s , all the mooncakes are simply made with the delicate craftmenships on daily basis using the freshest and highest quality ingridients with no added preservatives. The mooncake price starts from RM 22 + per piece and it is ideal for gifting during the Mid Autumn Festival; guest can also purchase the “Prestige Box of 4” at RM88++; while the Heavenly Gold mooncakes come in “Premium Box of 4” and “Premium Box of 6: at RM 198++ and RM 276++ respectively.

During our review in Hilton, we are also being tought on how to make a snowskin mooncake too.
