DURIAN MOONCAKE @ ORIENTAL GROUP

August 26, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

It is time for mooncake again. Being a big fans of durian, here comes the durian mooncake and white lotus mooncake from the Oriental Group. This year, Oriental Group is featuring more on their snow skin mooncake where they have only 2 choices to choose for.

Nothing fancy about packaging. The packaging comes pretty simple with the paper boxes of golden color.

As for the mooncake, we tried the snow skin Durian mooncake. Using the D24 durian as the main ingridients, the mooncakes comes pretty fragrant when you smell it. With a cut, you can smell the distinctive smell of the D24 durian. Perhaps, it is not something I expected too as they do not provide any packaging within the mooncake. Hence, it would be recommended to buy the same flavours so that the distinctive flavours of durian will not be tasted in your Snow Skin Lotus Paste.

The Snow Skin Durian comes with the generous portion of durian pulp with it and also some lotus seed within it. It is slightly thick on the skin to me and the snow skin durian comes with the pandan skin but inside is the pulpy durian in it.The taste is comes very creamy with the bites of lotus seeds which is not what I expected. Not much expectation on the mooncake itself and the price is pretty much on the highside.
