SILK & STRINGS PERFORMING DAILY EXCEPT MONDAYS AT G HOTEL, G SPOT

June 6, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

Grab your friends and family, Silk and Strings aka SISA is smoothing back into town. An acoustic group from the Philippines, SISA will be performing here at the G Spot daily except Mondays from 9pm onwards.

Formed sometime in July 2003, Silk and Strings consists of vocalists and instrumentalists with a significant amount of experiences- in and out of the Philippines, gives a wide range of repertoire of retro music to present hits. The cohesive trio performs pop, reggae, latin, samba, bossanova, rock, pop-jazz, standard, folk, R&R and R&B- acoustic style.

Their re-creations of songs by Bob Marley, Ronan Keating and Rihanna earns the band their wanted status here in Penang of which was one of the factors many guests from G Hotel requested their returned presence.

SISA has performed in three clubs in Singapore- Union Square, Planet Paradigm and Happy Days in year 2004, Ink Bar, Fairmont Hotel in Singapore in 2008 & 2009 and Asiana Hotel in Dubai last year.

Nancy Reodica Conti, the lead vocalist and conga player in the band has performed in countries in Europe (Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Norway and Finland) and Asia (Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan, China and Diego Garcia Island) and recently in Dubai. Performed in many bars and hotels in the Philippines, Nancy’s strong repertoires are pop, ballad, standard, samba, bossa nova, jazz, latin and reggae.

David Conti, the band leader and acoustic guitarist also plays the percussions. In addition, he does back-up vocals and arrangements for the band. He has performed in countries like Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, China, Diego Garcia Island, Dubai and Hong Kong as part of the Philippine delegation for Hong Kong Culture and Arts Festival. David has five years experience in stage musicals as part of the Metropolitan theater talents.

Rey Albert is the front vocalist and guitarist for Silk & Strings. He was a recording artist with the Krausswind band 1997 from Alpha records in the Philippines where he was the front vocalist. To add to his profile also, he was a solo artist of Octoarts Emi Music Philippines 1999- 2002 and has performed at Baywatch Club at Ajman-UAE 2004, Marina Bay in Singapore, Orchard Tower and Dubai Boracay Club.

G Spot offers different themes nightly such as Sweet Sundayz, Afterwork, Girls in the City, Thursday Madness, Infuse Night and Flashdance. Each theme represents different promotions that include a 50 per cent discount on selected house pouring wine, cocktails and draught beer. Ladies night that is also known as Girls in the City on Tuesdays offers ladies a free flow of selected cocktails all night long. Therefore there’s no reason why you shouldn’t come down as G Spot caters to all ages whether it is for leisure or for work.

This is the second time they will be performing in G Spot with a selection of songs from different era – better this time round with more songs and in different replicas of songs from different genres.  Silk & Strings has performed at G Hotel throughout April till end of June 2013. They now play daily except Mondays starting 9pm
