PIZZA HUT SHARES LOVE WITH THE LESS FORTUNATE

June 6, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

As part of its corporate social responsibility commitment to local charity projects, Pizza Hut Malaysia embarked on a visit to three charity homes on 15, 17, and 22 May in conjunction with its latest campaign, the Taste of Italy. A series of fun-filled parties were organized and it included celebrities/personalities as well as the ever hilarious Awang the Clown entertaining at the respective homes.

Among the selected homes were Pusat Jagaan Titian Kaseh in Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, Pusat Jagaan Kanak-kanak Kurang Upaya Kirtarsh in Rawang, and Shelter Home for Children in Petaling Jaya.
As the gate of the home opened, the Pizza Hut team was greeted with smiling faces of children; they all eagerly looked to see who had come to visit them. The Pizza Hut team helped to put up balloons and decorations to create a party atmosphere for the children to enjoy. The celebration was filled with fun, games, and entertainment by Awang the clown who made them laugh and smile through his larger than life personality and skillful balloon sculpturing ability.

The children were also treated to a magic show, singing and dancing before sharing a meal of the new Big Italia Box consisting of a pizza, pasta and bruschetta from the Taste of Italy range, New Orleans drummets as well as garlic bread with their guardians, celebrities and Pizza Hut team members.

Celebrities and personalities present were Wak Doyok (fashion icon) and Megat Alfie (celebrity image consultant) who joined the visit at Pusat Jagaan Titian Kaseh, Bambang Soteto (celebrity hairstylist), Nas-t (DJ/Actor), and Aman Nassim (Actor) at the Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Kurang Upaya Kirtarsh as well as actress Betty Rahmat (Singer/Actress) and Syaiful Baharim (fashion designer) who were present at the Shelter Home in Petaling Jaya. Also present were Kamaruldzaman Salleh, Chief Group Corporate Services, QSR Brands (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd, operator of Pizza Hut Malaysia as well as Sharon Khor, Deputy General Manager, Pizza Hut Malaysia.

“There is nothing more satisfactory than intermingling with these orphans and unprivileged communities. I’m proud of Pizza Hut’s efforts, and this is just such a heartwarming day for me to see the smile on these children’s faces,” said Kamaruldzaman.

“It was an awesome experience to be able to visit the orphans. Their smiles and beautiful happy faces were just so humbling. I’m thankful to Pizza Hut for including me in this charity visit,” said fashion icon, Wak Doyok.

“The children had so much fun and I think that Pizza Hut has shown the orphans a truly wonderful idea of sharing” said Sharifah, the guardian of Pusat Jagaan Titian Kaseh.

Apart from playing games with the celebrities, the children also received goodie bags from Pizza Hut containing educational toys and Pizza Hut’s Taste of Italy t-shirt.
