RAMEN-LICIOUS NEW CREATIONS FROM WATAMI MALAYSIA

December 10, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

Eat, breathe, think and live ramen? Check out  Watami Japanese Casual Dining Restaurant Malaysia’s latest range of slurp-riffic ramen-liciously good creations.

For a limited period of time, from December to February 2014, lovers of the Japanese ramen can savour unique-to-Watami ramen in conjunction with Watami’s soup noodle highlights.

Choose from the mouthwatering original Watami Tonkotsu Ramen ( RM23.90 ), the deliciously spicy Kara Miso Ramen ( RM24.90 )and the irresistibly hearty Nagasaki Chanpon-fu Ramen ( RM26.90 ) to the wholesome Sapporo Miso Ramen ( RM23.90 ) and uniquely aromatic seafood-rich Kaisen Tomato Ramen ( RM25.90 ).

True ramen enthusiasts will find the oft-touted best-seller Watami Tonkotsu Ramen a real treat as they savour wheat-based ramen noodles with special ginger and garlic flavoured half boiled egg, seasoned quality chashu (pork slices), carrots, onions, cabbage and black sesame oil in a special pork broth created from hours of simmering quality vegetables, pork bones and bone marrow.

For those with a taste for spice, the Korean-inspired Kara Miso Ramen featuring fresh cabbage, carrots, onions, bean sprouts, ginger and garlic flavoured egg and pork slices in fragrant miso broth with Touban paste sets the standard and is a must-try!

Fans of seafood ramen will delight in the Nagasaki Chanpon-fu Ramen as the generous slices of marbled pork and best grade mussels, clams, shrimp and squid mixed with fresh vegetables and served in steaming hot and savoury premium pork broth truly satisfies. The popular Chinese style dish originates from Fujian, China and was adopted and made local by residents of Kyushu during the Meiji Era.

Looking to try something lighter but no less scrumptious? Watami offers a great alternative in the Sapporo Miso Ramen with its delightful specially blended miso soup base and ramen topped with onions, cabbage, carrots, corn and the Japanese franchise’s best selling bariuma teba karaage ( fried chicken wings ).

If you are in the mood for something bordering on Western, eclectic and quirky, surprise your tastebuds with the Kaisen Tomato Ramen. Succulent clams and squid combined with garlic, pepper and parsley in a rich and aromatic tomato based broth makes this a light lunch favourite!

Complement your ramen dining experience with the Teppan Bou Gyoza ( RM15.90 ), a hot plate of delicious crispy pan-fried Japanese dumplings stuffed with seasoned minced pork, onions, cabbage, carrots, shrimp and crunchy black fungus.

Patrons can also request for additional toppings of Ajitsuke Tamago ( flavoured egg ) at RM1.90 per egg; Kikurage ( black fungus ) at RM1.90 per plate; Chashu at RM2.90 for two large slices; and Kaetama ( additional ramen ) at RM3.90 per bowl.

“Ramen is extremely popular and an enduring favourite of individuals and modern families in Japan. By rolling out Watami’s very own selection of ramen, we hope to showcase the versatility of the dish and variations from different regions of Japan,” said Raymond Liew, Marketing Director for Chaswood Resources.

Watami prides itself in offering a plethora of over 100 popular dishes, including those that are currently trending in Tokyo and an inimitable “Ishokuya” experience of wining and dining delicious food in a comfortable, casual setting with friends and loved ones.
