ISLAND SHANGRI-LA, HONG KONG WELCOMES THE YEAR OF THE HORSE WITH AUSPICIOUS DELIGHTS

Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong celebrates the arrival of the Year of the Horse with a selection of gourmet hampers and delightful dining inspirations.

Fireworks Menu at Restaurant Petrus 

On 1 February 2014 (the second day of the Chinese New Year), there is no better place to experience one of the much-anticipated spectacles in the city than at the Michelin-starred Restaurant Petrus.  With the backdrop of the fireworks display over Victoria Harbour, guests can dine on a six-course dinner menu specially prepared by Chef de Cuisine Frederic Chabbert.  Dinner includes seasonal favourites such as Normandy Roasted Turbot with Meyer Lemon, Celery and Seaweed and Miérel Bresse Roasted Duck crusted with Coriander and Pardailhan Turnips.   The menu is priced at HK$1,588* per person.  Please refer to the appendix for details of the menu.

Auspicious Dishes at Summer Palace 

Guests can capture the spirit of the Lunar New Year with a traditional Chinese feast at the Michelin two-star Summer Palace.  In addition to the dim sum and dessert menus, Chef Ip Chi Cheung has created special dishes comprising ingredients with auspicious associations.  Please refer to the appendix for details of the menu.

Festive Buffet Feast at cafe TOO 

From 31 January to 3 February 2014, the innovative chefs at cafe TOO will continue its theatrical performances with new signature dishes including Citrus-Cured Raw Salmon, Steamed Abalone, Tandoori King Prawns and Homemade Lollipops.  The lunch buffet is priced at HK$468* (adult) and HK$288* (child), and available from noon to 3 p.m.  The dinner buffet is priced at HK$638* (adult) and HK$398* (child), and available from 6 to 11:30 p.m.

Homemade Pudding and Gourmet Hampers at Island Gourmet 


Island Gourmet has prepared a collection of homemade puddings and gourmet hampers that convey wishes of good fortune.  Homemade puddings such as Chinese New Year Pudding, Taro Pudding and Turnip Pudding are priced at HK$228 each.  Inspired by the traditional Chinese New Year Candy Box, the delicious puddings are packaged in violet-red coloured hexagon-shaped boxes with a Chinese knot ornament.

The hamper selections include:

•Ruby Hamper (HK$1,888)

Chinese New Year pudding, Chinese cookies, Shangri-La chocolates, caramelised almonds, candies, blueberry jam, black truffle pâté, dried mushrooms and porcini gift box, Chinese tea, a bottle of red wine and Shangri-La red packets

•Jade Hamper (HK$2,588)

Welcomes The Year Of The Horse With Auspicious Delights

Guests can receive a HK$100 dining voucher, which can be utilised in any of the hotel’s restaurants, for every purchase of pudding or hamper at Island Gourmet worth over HK$1,500 (after discount).   Island Gourmet offers delivery services to Hong Kong Island (HK$150 per item), Kowloon (HK$200 per item) and New Territories (HK$300 per item).  Delivery is not applicable to Outlying Islands.
