THE MIGF FESTIVAL GALA LAUNCH 2013, SUNWAY PYRAMID CONVENTION CENTRE

September 8, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

The 13th Malaysia International Gourmet Festival is bringing more excitement and this year the event is much bigger with 3 section which is Super Gourmet Safari, Epicure Lifestyle Workshops and Epicure International Gourmet Village. The event is just superb enough when one must visit from 7 September 2013 and 8 September 2013 at Sunway Convention Centre in Sunway Pyramid.

Started with the Super Gourmet Safari, the delicious stalls with lots of delicious, tasting portions from the Malaysia’s best restaurants as they gather in one amazing location- The specially created Theatre of Cuisine. You can bring you family and friends to get a try of the fine cuisine from all over the world.

In here, the band will also accompanied you during your culinary journey and children can enjoy themselves in the playroom too.

The Gourmet Safari comes 28 station from western, Chinese, thai, Italian and more. Some of the restaurants which is in my favorites includes
1) Station 2: Dynasty (Renaisaance Hotel) with the Seafood Dumpling in Superopr Stock
2) Station 3: Qba Latin Bar & Grill ( Westin Hotel) with their Sauteed Shrimp with Spicy Tomato Sauce
3) Station 6: Nook ( Aloft KL ) with the Lobster & Abalone Sarawak Laksa
4) Station 10: Grill 583 ( Best Western Premier) with the Grilled Toger Prawn with Mango Salsas
5) Station 20: Mandarin Grill( Mandarin Oriental) with the 24 K Grand Cru Chocolate Fudge Bar

The sampling is priced at 1 token till 3 token for each sampling of the food and it is just fun and worth to try of the lovely food delights at the stations. Here is how the samples looks like and it is just cool to enjoy the lovely food at the event.

Besides that, you may also shop at the Epicure International Gourmet Village which is just next to the Theather of Cuisines where there is up to 80 purveyors of the finest gourmet food, wines, beverages, cigars, and much else, offer their wares in a festive, bazaar-like atmosphere. Cash and Credit Cards are the methods of payment (not Taste Tokens). And here, you can enjoy the tasting as well as buy some food products as well Here they have tSoanish Passion, Victoria crest, Dome, The Perfect Puuff, Pikzern Marketing,Delicious Durian, Hui Lau Shan, Ding Tea, Chickpeas Country and more. It is time to shop till you drop here at the Epicure International Gourmet Festival with lots of promotions as well.

For those who love to learn some cooking tips, you may enjoy the Epicure Lifestyle Workshops where one can enjoy cooking and lifestyle classes too. There are 40 classes and workshops have been scheduled, conducted by top professionals, all recognised experts in their field.e cooking workshops are a unique opportunity to get to meet and learn from many Festival Master Chefs as they share their culinary secrets.Admission is free as long as you hold a Taste Token booklet. Log on to www.tastemigf.com for updates on the cooking classes and workshops, and register yourself to avoid disappointment. Workshops will be conducted throughout Saturday and Sunday, from noon until 8.00pm

Another outstanding aspect to look out for at Taste MIGF is the appearance of Chef Wan, Malaysia’s Food Ambassador cum Celebrity Chef whose boisterous spirit and colloquial mix of English and Malay in his talk shows have made him a household name both in Malaysia and beyond. Chef Wan will provide the perfect start to Taste MIGF on both Saturday and Sunday morning with his highly entertaining – and highly professional – cooking demonstrations starting at 11.30am, at the main stage.

A fully equipped and professionally supervised Children’s Playroom is also provided.
