In September 2013, Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur will be featuring Indonesian food at JP teres and welcoming master chefs from Grand Hyatt Jakarta to showcase their signature dishes.

From 2 September 2013 to 14 September 2013, come experience diverse cuisine based on cultural and foreign influences from India, the Middle East, China and Europe, and sample a selection of delicacies such as Sop Buntut, Lumpia Samarang, Ayam Bakar Jogya, Ikan Rica-Rica, and Klepon.
Guests can also learn culinary secrets from these Grand Hyatt Jakarta master chefs. Chef Gatot Tristano, Chef Bowo Sarwono and Pastry Chef Abraham Alex will be showcasing how to prepare Indonesian cuisine during a cooking demonstration on 4 September 2013. There are limited seats available for this culinary adventure and tickets are MYR220.00++ per person, inclusive of lunch. Chef Gatot Tristano started his culinary career at Grand Hyatt Jakarta as a demi chef in 1991 and was part of the hotel opening team. After six years, he took charge of Grand Café Restaurant, responsible for western and local selections specialising in Indonesian cuisine. His signature dish is Sop Buntut (Oxtail Soup) and he has participated in the Indonesia food festival for Hyatt Regency Osaka in August 2010 and Grand Hyatt Muscat in February 2013. Chef Gatot was also part of the culinary team cooking for Sultan of Brunei’s birthday in 2008.
Chef Bowo Sarwono joined Grand Hyatt Jakarta in 1996 and was assigned to the kitchen of Grand Café Restaurant and focused on Indonesian cuisine. His signature dish is Semur Lidah (Ox Toungue Soup) and has been actively taking part in Indonesia food showcases since 1997 and with most recent one at Grand Hyatt Muscat in February 2013. Chef Bowo is currently responsible for Indonesian delicacies at Seafood Terrace in Grand Hyatt Jakarta.
Pastry Chef Abraham Alex has been with the Grand Hyatt Jakarta for six years and is passionate in bringing out the best of traditional Indonesian pastry, a passion that is influenced by his mother who taught him many tips and tricks. Chef Alex’s signature pastry is Putu Ayu (Mini Pandan Cake). He had the privilege to be an assistant chef at the Indonesian presidential palace for a state event in 2007, and in April 2013 won the Indonesian Salon Culinaire award for Petite Four and Praline categories.
