HARVEY-DAVIDSON IN KUALA LUMPUR

April 9, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

Counting down to the first Asia Harley Days, Harley-Davidson owners and fans can expect fun and excitement during the event at the Kuala Lumpur City Centre. Organised in conjunction with Harley-Davidson’s global “110th Anniversary: 110 Years of Freedom” celebration, Asia Harley Days is an event for Harley-Davidson owners from all around the world to gather and experience Malaysia from a different perspective whilst giving the public an opportunity to experience the brand up close.

The event is open to the members of the public and will showcase an array of exciting activities including exhibitions, Harley-Davidson Experiences, games and non-stop performances by local and international bands.

“Asia Harley Days is a first of its kind event in Southeast Asia and Kuala Lumpur was selected as the location to celebrate this historical moment which will not only showcase Harley-Davidson to the public but also Malaysia as a destination,” said Iskandar Shahril, Marketing Manager, Asia Direct Markets, Harley-Davidson Asia Pacific.

Kick-starting the celebration is a two-day non-stop event in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre on 15 and 16 September, with activities such as the Harley-Davidson Experiences; motorcycles and exclusive merchandise exhibition; street performances; fashion shows; and a line-up of local and international band performances by Os Pombos, Sons of Adam, Made-in-Malaysia, Mad August, Blister, The Azenders, Creedence Revived, and General Luna.

The celebration continues with a five day riding tour to Terengganu and Penang on Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Over 200 bikers are expected to participate in this tour to experience the country’s diversity.

“Malaysia is a multicultural and multiracial nation and the Riding Tour will allow riders to experience the diversity of the country”, added Iskandar.

The riders will spend a night’s stay in Kuala Lumpur and Terengganu each, and two nights in Penang. Some riders who will be coming from as far as the Kazakhstan and South Africa will rent motorcycles from Harley-Davidson of Kuala Lumpur to take part in the event.

These riders are also invited to an exclusive welcome dinner at Hard Rock Cafe Kuala Lumpur prior to Asia Harley Days.

Asia Harley Days is an event organised by Harley-Davidson, Inc, and supported by Malaysia Major Events, a division of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) an agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.
