WEEKEND BUFFET AT GENJI JAPANESE RESTAURANT, HILTON PETALING JAYA

March 12, 2013 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review, Invited Review Leave a Comment

Genji Japanese Restaurant is located on Level 1, East Wing of Hilton Petaling Jaya, and it is the place to be as it offers the Weekend Japanese Buffet for dinner and lunch every Saturday and Sunday respectively. We had our weekend stay in the hotel and here we dined at the Japanese Restaurant.

Flipping back the curtain and stepping into the Genji Japanese Restaurant at PJ Hilton is like stepping into a little piece of Japan. The restaurant is well furnished with wooden furniture, bamboo ornaments and the beautiful classic style of the zen style with the pathway leading to the private rooms.

– The Appetizers-

– The Salad-

Kick start your gastronomic journey at the salad counter with our fresh mixed salad, assorted pickled vegetables, potato salad, cucumber, seaweed and jellyfish in vinegar, fruit salad and green beans.

After the salads and delighting dishes, we move on to the fresh items like salmon, tuna, butterfish, and octopus and sea bream sashimi. You can get a taste of the fresh salmon which melts in your mouth.

– The Sushis-

Not only that, they have a variety of sushi and sashimi in the list. It has a great variery of sushi which is not to be missed,

You can find more items of tempura and teppan counter. This includes the deep fried prawns, soft shell crabs, as well as deep fried lady fingers, potatoes and more.

– The Live Teppan Counter-

You may also witness Genji’s chef in action at the live action counter as they cook-up a storm while preparing various mushroom dishes such as shitake, abalone mushroom and shimeji, on top of the delicious assorted vegetables. Not just that, they do have beef, chicken meat, squids and more at the counter for you to choose.

If you love to have something warm and filling, they do have udon as well as fried rice on the buffet spread too. Not only that, they have delicious chawanmushi as well.

The salmon fish and saba fish are my favorites as it is amazingly beautiful and delicious.

Not only that, chawanmushi is also available in the buffet spread.

– The Desserts –

– The Lovely Pasteries-

– The Ice Creams-

After the heavy meals, why not end your meals with the variety of delectable spread of desserts. This includes green tea, strawberry and vanilla ice cream; red ben soup with glutinous rice balls, mixed pasteries and tarts, cream caramel, bread and butter pudding and more.

Why not end your meals too with some fruits as well.

Overall, they have variety choices of buffet spread which captures my heart like the chawanmushi, tempura as well as the teppanyaki session. I had a great time with the lovely meal which is being served in the buffet.
