LOVEABY MAMA BUFFET, UTARA CAFE AT HOTEL ARMADA

May 10, 2012 by StrawberrY Gal

It is indeed a busy month where everyone is looking around to find a place to dine and celebrate the greatest day of your mother. Mother’s Day falls on this coming weekend and have you plan yours yet? Armada Hotel is one of the choices you can enjoy your mother’s days where the hotel is well access with public transport and the buffet is served with a fair price too.

This Mother’s Day, to celebrate the love of all mothers, Utara Coffee House of the Armada Hotel Petaling Jaya had its mother’s day promotion too on the special day for the mother.

Mother’s Day promotion – Loveably Mama:

Eve of Mother’s Day (12/5/2012) – 7 pm to 10:30 pm – RM 70++ adult, RM 35++ child/domestic helper
Peranakan “Ho Chiak” Buffet Hi-Tea (13/5/2012) – 12 pm to 4 pm – RM 75++ adult, RM 37.50++ child/domestic helper

Mothers also dine for free (subject to 2 moms per group of 10, call for more info). On top of that, the first 10 moms get to have free caricature drawings, plus there are goodie bags, games and prizes too.

The buffet features a plentiful of choices of the Peranakan delights which includes Otak Otak, Jiu Hu char, Asam Fish, and many more. The peranakan delights is serving in buffet style and you will not burn your pocket and you can eat all you can as Nyonya dishes is sometimes quite expensive. We have get the opportunity to sample some of the dishes which is being offered during the Mothers Day Buffet in Utara Coffeehouse.

We started our meals with the sashimi and sushi which is fresh. There is a wide range of sashimi and sushi. The sashimi is prepared on top of the cold ice to make sure that the freshness of the sashimi is on par.

Next we are served with the 3 types of maki which is well made and taste good too. The maki was freshly made and it is simply special where the yellow maki is wrapped with cheese on top.

Next, we are served with the Roasted Duck with the Ginger Herbal Soup where the soup is full of frangrance of the roasted duck with a slight salty taste with it. The soup is reallyy delighting which is alike mum’s cooking from the kitchen. The duck soup also serves with a slight spiciness and it is really flavorful.

We also tried the chicken satay which is well made as well. I just love the satay where it is served with the tender chicken meat and being grilled till perfectionist.The satay is simply good to be served together with the peanut sauce which comes together with it.

Next is the Nasi Kunyit with Nyonya Ayam Rendang where the meal is simply good and it is loaded with the herbs and spices which makes the dis perfect. The yellow glutinous rice is nice too which well accompanied with the chicken rendang.

Another dish which is not to be missed is the Nyonya Laksa which is a thumb up. The chef had made a good job where the laksa is well made with the flavorful taste of the fragrant brooth. It is well accompanied together with the slices of minced chicken as well as prawns with it.

They also have otak otak which is served in the buffet. If you love the Peranakan Delights, here is another choices to try in the Utara Café

Besides from the main courses, Utara Cafe also serves the desserts which is not too sweet which ended our meal that day.
The dessert was good and freshly made and the taste is simply good and delicious.

They also have nyonya kuih to be served like pulut tai tai, nine layer kuih, kuih talam and even more.

Overall the meals is worth for money and the taste is great.
