KEDAI KOPI HONG SENG, SECTION 17

January 2, 2012 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review Leave a Comment

Hong Seng Coffeeshop which is located at Section 17 is famous for its chicken rice. The coffee shop is always packed and the chicken rice stall is even self service stall. The lining up to buy chicken rice is indeed one of the specialities of the stall. It is located at the corner lot, perpendicularly facing CIMB Bank. Besides the chicken, the siew yoke of the stall tastes very good as well. The specialty is also its sweet and sour soup

We order the char siew chicken rice which is super nice and it is my routine to have it there whenever hubby fetch me for lunch. The char siew is tender and juicy as well as it is well roasted with the aroma. It is also well coated with their own special sauce. The chicken is also super nice where it is made on spot and in less than 15 minutes, you will see the chicken is sold off. The chicken meat is served hot with the cispy skin as well. The roasted chicken is indeed a MUST in the shop.
Taste: 5/5
Price: RM 5.50

Next is the siew yok chicken which is also a great combination to try. Not mentioning the chicken, the roasted pork (siew yok ) where the skin is crispy as well. The taste is simply nice and beautifully made.It is worth to queue up to have the chicken rice here.
Taste: 5/5
Price: RM 5.50

Aside, they do serve sweet sour soup which is quite sour enough that boiled till a bit messy with the ingredients. It is not too spicy as well as we prefer it should be more spicy.
Taste: 5/5
Price: RM 3.00
