KOI JAPANESE, GURNEY PLAZA

September 22, 2011 by StrawberrY Gal

KOI is my visit during my trip back to Penang. The restaurant is indeed stylish and serving an authentic Japanese cuisine. It is located at the New Wing of Gurney Plaza. KOI is serving a variety of Japanese cuisine like bento, as well as sashimi. They have a large variety of choices of Japanese food to be tried there.

We ordered “KOI” Sashimi platter where it comes with 5 selection of sashimi. The 15 pieces of sashimi are the assortment of 3 pieces each of salmon, red tuna, white tuna, mackerel as well as octopus. The sashimi is fresh as well as the texture is nice. The only thing is the soy sauce to be have it together is slightly salty.
Taste: 4/5
Price: RM 40.00

Aside, we also ordered Tempura Roll where the maki in classic is batter fried tempura with lobster meat fiklings, garnished with tempura crumbs, aonari( green seaweed) and KOI signature dressing. It is crunchy on the outside and juicy in the inside. It is best eaten immediately when it is served to preserve the crunchiness.
Taste: 3/5
Price: RM 12.80
