BLUE REEF, STRAITS QUAY

May 6, 2011 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review 3 Comments

Straits Quay is another famous place for food and what I find here is again my favorite outlet Blue Reef. The shop is famous for Fish and Chips. The shop is having a simple and neat decoration with indoor and outdoor seating’s too. It is always pack during lunch and dinner so book your place earlier.

Traditional fish and Chips is what we ordered and this is one of the signature dish in the shop. We choose Garupa fish where it is served with vinegar and salt for traditional. It can be cooked either beer butter or bread crumbs.
Taste: 5/5
Price: RM 26.00

Grilled salmon fish fillet is also another order where the dish is grilled an dserved with garluc mashed potatoes, sautéed vegetables and béarnaise sauce
Taste: 5/5
Price: RM 25.00

The price is subjected to 10% service charge.

I just tried reserving for my party of 14 for dinner on Sunday night and was told that they only entertain walk-ins on weekends and have already rejected a few big groups calling up. If you ask me, this is:

    1. Not good business sense unless you expect the economy to keep expanding and inflation to be in check (monthly lease, fresh food prices etc)
    2. A good way to earn negative publicity
    3. Turn away repeat customers

This is my personal opinion only.
