FONG LYE RESTAURANT (蓬莱茶房台湾料理), THE GARDENS

December 5, 2010 by StrawberrY Gal

Fong Lye is located on the 3rd floor of Midvalley The Gardens. The Gardens if you don’t know already is an extension to the old Midvalley specialising in higher end retail outlets.Fong Lye serves mainly Taiwanese food, focusing on rice, noodle and the popular Taiwanese snow desserts.

‘Baked Sausage’ is one of the famous Taiwan snacks but for this sausage, there is nothing special.
Taste: 3/5
Price: RM 6.90

‘Fried Rice with Rice Wine’ is served with a big portion. It looks simply plain but it has the ‘wok hei’ in the rice and was fried to perfection with the fragrance of rice wine detected.
Taste: 4/5
Price: RM 12.80

Chicken with Scallion Sauce Set Meal was a nice one. The chicken meat is tender and nice. The portion was a great one and served with some tibits and soup. The soup from the chicken was slightly salty but is taste great.
Taste: 4/5
Price: RM 19.80

BBQ Pork Rice Set where the set comes with tender bbq pork. The portion was not too big and is servedwith soup and kim chi as well.
Taste: 3/5
Price: RM 12.80

Taiwan Snow Mountain (台湾丘冰) – The Taiwan Snow Mountain is a big portion. It is covers with beans and spungy type of yam in it. The snow mountain is super sweet and the shaves of the ice is not really smooth. I still prefer the one in Xian Ding Wei.
Taste: 1/5
Price; RM 9.30

Milk Tea in French Style – A normal tea but kinda tasteless.
Taste: 1/5
Price: RM 7.30
