A VERY TROPICANA TWISTER NEW YEAR

February 27, 2013 By ivykam - Food News 1 Comment

Malaysia’s No.1 juice brand grants wishes to make it a very meaningful Chinese New Year for lucky winners

A host of lucky individuals saw their dreams literally come true after writing in to a unique Chinese New Year campaign and asking for their Year of the Snake wishes to be granted.

The ‘Tropicana Twister Wish Come True’ CNY campaign saw a selection of lucky winners have their New Year wishes granted, from the thousands of entries that were drawn in since the campaign’s commencement on January 7. They were also treated to an extravagant reunion dinner at a leading restaurant here.

Among the many moving entries received was from a daughter hoping to treat her single mother to a family vacation, a magazine editor wanting her five-year-old to continue her studies and a leukaemia patient who wrote about wanting to visit Sentosa Island in Singapore.

Apart from winning a table for 10 at the reunion dinner for their families and friends and enjoying a sumptuous meal, winners were also entertained by special New Year performances, played fun games, took home several goodies and of course, participated in the traditional Prosperity Toss, or ‘lou sang’.

The ‘Tropicana Twister Wish Come True’ campaign was one of the many initiatives Malaysia’s No.1 juice brand has lined up as part of its corporate responsibility programmes (CSR) this year. The campaign was positioned as a platform to not only give back to society during the festive season, but to also aid those with limited resources at their disposal during Chinese New Year.

“Tropicana Twister is honoured to give back to our consumers by granting their wishes and trying to ensure they have the most meaningful New Year ever,” said Permanis Sdn Bhd Vice President of Marketing Hemalatha Ragavan. “We received many heartwarming and stirring wishes and by the time we had selected our winners, most of our judges were unable to hold back their tears.”

The ‘Wish Come True’ contest required participants to write, in not more than 200 words, with their CNY wish and why they required it to be fulfilled. Winning wishes were selected based on authenticity, creativity and story value, among other criteria.

Tropicana, the world’s No.1 juice brand, is owned by PepsiCo, whose other brands include Pepsi, 7UP, Mirinda, Revive and Mountain Dew. Permanis Sdn Bhd is the official bottler, manufacturer and distributor of PepsiCo brands in Malaysia.

Tropicana Twister, which has been the leading juice brand here since 2009, is available locally in five variants – Orange, Apple, Blackcurrant, Lychee and Juicy Burst. Being there, we are being served with the superb dishes.
