Pavilion Kuala Lumpur commemorated the conclusion of its Hari Raya celebration with the conclusion of its Hari Raya Celebrations with the record breaking achievement of weaving 20,000 ketupats to raise funds for charity. The ketupat, a symbol of Malaysian unity and the spirit of Hari Raya, was the beautiful representation of the mall’s campaign, aptly titled “The Beauty of Hari Raya” , which is all about the inclusiveness and bridging the communities to celebrate Hari Raya with charity in the heart.
Pavilion KL broke the record once again in the Malaysia Book of Records by achieving the “Most Number of Ketupats Woven for Charity” which received the overwhelming support from the Pavilion KL community of partners, tenants, suppliers, shoppers and also visitors. The colourful ketupats raised RM 20,000 in funds after the mall pledged to donate RM 1 to charity for every ketupat woven and collected during the campaign , as part of its festive CSR efforts.
The Ceremony was attended by Dato’ Joyce Yap, CEO ( Retail) of Pavilion KL , Mr Christopher Wong Hong Wai, Chief Operating Officer of Malaysia Books of Records and 100 children from four charity organisations including Pusat Jagaan Cahaya Kasih Bestari, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Anak Harapan, Yayasan Chow Kit dan Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ehsan Ash- Shakur ( PEKEAS). And after the event, the children had the chance to enjoy the refreshments of Johnny Rockets and a surprise visit to the new Marvel Studios: Ten Years of Heroes Exhibition.
