Air Itam Laksa
Last 2 weeks, I was thinking of having Air Itam laksa and I went down to Air Itam to get the bite of the delicious oishi asam laksa. It is just along the road of Jalan Pasar and this stall mostly open during the afternoon about 12 pm- 5 pm.
The main ingredients for assam laksa include shredded fish, normally kembung fish or mackerel, and finely sliced vegetables including cucumber, onions, red chillis, pineapple, lettuce, common mint, “daun kesum” (Vietnamese mint or laksa mint) and pink bunga kantan (ginger buds). Assam laksa is normally served with either thick rice noodles or thin rice noodles (vermicelli). And topped off with “petis udang” or “hae ko”, a thick sweet prawn/shrimp paste.
Overall the taste is ok. Just the place is bit dirty.

Nyonya Delights @ Yee Hong, Bukit Jambul, Penang
Was in Yee Hong having dinner and spotted this Nyonya Stall.. which have a few selection of Nyonya food.. which includes curry chicken, sour fish and more.. Me, mum and dad at last make our decison to taste the food here.. em.. wat we ordered is curry chicken, mengkuang char and lastly taufu.
The curry chicken is kinda nice but jus a bit salty. Overall is ok. 3 pc of chicken where each piece cost RM 1.50. The curry chicken is the type which put more santan which is wat the Nyonya style is. The style is where is real lemak taste.
We also ordered the mengkuang goreng which the taste is extremly oishi. Really nice and yummy which is RM 3 per bowl and a taufu which is nice. The mengkuang goreng is the combination of tiny slices of mengkuang with tiny of sotong kering as well as carrots and mengkuang. The taufu is normal taufu with bits of chilly paddy cook with it. Not bad
Mum make an extra order which is the mengkuang roll which is not bad. It is the roll of mengkuang goreng and wrap them and deep fried. Jus kinda oily.
Overall jus cost us about RM 14 fr 3 with 4 bowl of rice.

Dim Sum @ Max Gourment, Bayan Lepas
One of the restaurant that I have been to a lot lately, is Max which is right across the street from Queensbay.Reasons?
Relatively Cheap
Air-con
Serve Dim-sum late @ night
Friendly service
Discount card
Close proximity
The food here is base on Hong Kong cuisine. While dim sum is one of their main specialty, it also serves an assorted menu ranging from different types of noodles to rice of one's choice. We decided to order a mixture of dim sums as well as my usual fried rice. The fried rice is a must for those who wants to stretch the Ringgit since it comes in a generous portion loaded with char siu and prawns.
An assorted range of dim sum consisting of char siu sou, egg tart, sesame seed ball with lotus paste and butter bread.
The char siu so are really nice because the pastry melts in your mouth and you can also taste the sweetness of the char siu. The egg tarts are equally delicious. Its soft, delicate and not too sweet.
All in all, the food here is good and the service is fast. I have never been dissapointed coming here. On week days, do come early for lunch since the crowd starts building up by 11am. Just so you know, they close on Mondays

Pisang Goreng@Free School Road, Green Lane
As far as I can remember, the goreng pisang stall has been around for a long time even way back during my schooling days. I would always make my way through the side entrance after the extra curriculum activities and head down the road just for the goreng pisang. Till today, the stall remains unchanged except for the fact that the business is now run by the son. Besides goreng pisang, you can find other yummy fried snacks like tnee kueh (glutinous cake), potatoes, tapioca rolls, yam and also curry puffs. From this stall, you can find the delicious food of the goreng pisang as well as the crispy taste which i adore always. Whenever i pass that round about along the Free School Road, it will be a must for me.. haha.. yummy. Lastly, the goreng pisang stall is open from noon to 5pm from Monday till Saturday.
